Anyone who has both the team link and the coach password can edit the team. Share the coach password only with people you trust to make changes.
Yes. Teams are not listed publicly and cannot be searched. Someone must have your team's unique link to view your team's information.
No. We don't require email addresses, phone numbers, or player accounts. We only store the information needed to operate your team, such as the team name, roster, schedule, coach message, and player RSVPs.
Yes. Anyone with your team's link can select any player from the roster and update that player's availability.
Who Can Play is intentionally designed to be simple. It does not require accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, or individual passwords. This allows coaches, parents, and players to begin using it immediately without creating accounts or managing logins.
In practice, teams are small communities whose members generally know one another, and misuse has proven to be uncommon. If an incorrect RSVP is entered, anyone can simply change it back.
We do not offer password recovery. Providing such a service would require us to collect personal contact information such as your email address or cell phone number. In our view, the constant requests of websites and apps for personal information has become tiresome, and we therefore wish to avoid this practice.
My name is Patrick Wiese. For the past few years, I've coached my daughter's soccer team. Before creating Who Can Play, I experimented with Google Forms, spreadsheets, and apps like TeamSnap to track player availability. But I found the Google Forms/spreadsheets approach to be a bit clumsy, and I didn't like paying a monthly fee for TeamSnap. Additionally, some parents didn't want to install TeamSnap on their phones.
Unable to find an option that met my needs, I decided to create Who Can Play. My goal was to build something that is free, simple to use, respects people's privacy, and works on any device without requiring an app or an account.
If a team's account goes unused for more than 12 months, we assume that the team no longer exists, and we erase the associated data.
